• ...the famous philosophical work Meditations was largely written right here in our territory? The Roman Emperor and Stoic philosopher Marcus Aurelius wrote it during his military campaigns against the Marcomanni, likely even in military camps not far from today's Pálava.
• ...Moravia came very close to becoming a permanent part of the Roman Empire? The Emperor planned to create a new province called Marcomannia north of the Danube. This strategic intention was thwarted only by his death in 180 AD in Vindobona (modern-day Vienna).
• ...the Roman 10th Legion (Legio X Gemina) brought the antique standard of living to the Hradisko hill near Mušov? Archaeologists have discovered here the remains of command buildings and the very first stone baths with underfloor heating in our region.
• ...the fortress near Mušov also included a large military hospital (valetudinarium)? Within the borders of the entire Roman Empire at the time, only about fifteen such hospitals are historically documented, demonstrating the immense strategic importance of this location.
